For those of you who know me from my NP board review classes, a very sincere “Hello friend!” is in order.
Hello friend indeed, and welcome to my latest season 👋
I feel as if I have lived 1,000 lifetimes in the span of the last five years. Just five short years ago, I was working two full time jobs while simultaneously completing nurse practitioner school. I was the true embodiment of the word busybody. I know now that extreme busyness was an attempt to battle my then undiagnosed OCD – but that’s a blog post for another day.
After I passed my board exam and became a real deal NP, I spent a weekend creating a course that would change my future (and honestly the future of those around me) forevermore.
There was one goal in mind for that first 3 hour zoom course: Help nurse practitioner students build confidence in themselves prior to taking their board exams. I had battled my anxiety for a lifetime at that point and thought I could help others do that too.
Within 6 months, I left both of my full time jobs and spent every moment of my time creating what I genuinely believe is the best review course out there for aspiring nurse practitioners. A lot happened in the in between but I then sold my business into a bigger test prep company – Blueprint Test Prep – in 2022 to give my students the best resources and technology that’s available. I still work there today to help guide the next generation of our nursing courses.
Since selling my business in 2022 though, I have been working to establish myself as more than a nurse practitioner. I want people to know me outside of my profession because there is so much more to me than that. And so while that is one incredibly important title I hold, I am also a female entrepreneur who did the impossible, a heart mom to my daughter Meadow, and a fierce advocate for all things mental health but especially OCD.
If you want to join me in this next season, sign up for my email list to keep in the loop! My next year is all about becoming a soon-to-be author, and an even fiercer advocate and philanthropist for congenital heart disease.
Talk soon friend,
